On the Typepad homepage, there are always a couple of featured sites. I saw this at Hacking:Netflix.com, so I figured I'd try it too. And of course, I love comments (and I get so few...what's the deal with that?).
So, here's the deal: I have SIX gmail account invitations up for the asking. Send me a comment for this post telling me that you want a gmail account. The first six people will get an invitation sent to them. How easy is that?!
Go for it.
P.S. - Thanks to Dudley's owner (neatly referred to as "him") for the link to this site with tricks and tips for gmail. So, once you get your account, visit here for all the stuff the FAQ won't tell you.

Don't need a gmail account at all, honest, google is just a plot by the US government to take over the world, they will record all your emails and sell them to aliens who will then use the information to find the right time to attack and eat our brains, uggggg, Stop gmail now,
