Yesterday on the way to work, the skies were awfully gray and gloomy. It looked like any second, it would open up and pour. After rain through the entire drive the day before to meet CT with the kittens, I really didn't want more rain. It must have all moved over the area, though, as when I left, the parking lot was only sparsely wet. Today appears much the same way. It's the kind of weather that makes me want to just curl up with a blanket and take a day-long nap.
On the brighter side, the Draino puppy, "Caramel," survived, so far. She hops around her cage on three legs as if nothing ever happened to her. There are still places on her body where the skin could not stretch enough to be sutured together. As such, there are still open wounds, mainly on the abdomen, the elbows, and the tips of the ears. She has a voracious appetite, but is quite messy. She has to wear a "hat" (an E-collar) so she doesn't lick at the wounds. But, in trying to get her little head with a big hat in the bowl, she smears some of the food on the inside of the collar. It's kind of funny to watch. I have no idea when she's going home, but she definitely has at least another surgery in her future to fix the elbow. For now, she's doing better on three legs than four.
