Since I'm not heading out to the cinema this weekend - my schedule obligates that I spend most of my weekend at the emergency clinic - I'll just have a weekend music review, instead of a weekend movie review. I have watched a couple DVDs in the wee hours of the morning lately, but those were both chick flicks. I'll likely find few people interested in what I thought of Hilary Duff in "A Cinderella Story."
I've added a new CD to the list on the left titled, "I Like What I'm Hearing." The disc is Tobymac's "Welcome to Diverse City." Tobymac is another artist signed to the EMI label, right along with new to the music scene "Roper," a band I've been gushing about for a couple weeks. Toby McKeehan, one of the three voices featured on an early entry into the Christian music scene, DCTalk, creates a great sophomore effort, in my opinion. The songs have a different sound than the debut disc "Momentum." In this case, different is good! The lyrics are fresh, the beats are danceable (even while doing mundane things like cleaning one's room), and the guests rock (including Superchick, Coffee from GRITS, Paul Wright, and a couple others.
The CD overwrap touts "Gone" and "Slam" as the #1 singles. They're both great, but I'm going to give you a chance to listen to "Catchafire (Whoopsi-Daisy)" which is undeniably catchy and addictive. Enjoy the song, and your weekend. It's off to work, I go...hi ho, hi ho.
